The barcode button can be found in the search bar that appears after you tap the “+Add food” button on the main page of the app. Make sure the entire barcode is behind the camera and hold the phone steady until the item is recognized.
If the barcode cannot be found, you will be asked to search for the correct item or manually create it, then you will be able to link that barcode to the selected food item. This only has to be done once, the next time you scan the same barcode, the linked item will be shown.
Note: When using the barcode scanner for the first time, you will need to allow the app to access your phone’s camera.
